Professional-Technical Students
The Honors Program provides Professional-Technical students with opportunities to enhance their academic experience and pursue projects that are relevant to their career goals. The program builds on the view that competence requires motivation, knowledge, and skills application and moves students from area-specific learning to integrated problem-solving.
How to Join
Students self-select into the Honors Program based on a desire to pursue advanced scholarship during their time at Highline. Interested students should email the Honors Faculty Advisor to schedule an orientation meeting.
Honors Student Guide
Prospective and current honors students can learn more about the program in the Honors Program Guide for students completing Professional-Technical degrees.
Program Requirements
Professional-Technical students have the opportunity to graduate as Honors Scholars by completing 5 honors projects in 5 different 3-, 4-, or 5-credit classes and presenting one of their projects during the spring Honors Poster Session. Honors Scholars are eligible to wear green regalia at Highline’s annual Commencement ceremony to recognize their achievement.
A student who completes all the requirements and maintains a minimum 3.5 GPA may become eligible for a merit tuition scholarship in their final quarter at Highline.
