Kerry on the Honors Program

I took Honors 100 my last year at Highline, but I regret that I didn’t take it earlier.

As a “Running Start” student, I felt unprepared for the next step and got lost in the whole application process. Taking Honors 100 helped me through a process that I otherwise might not have known where to begin. I learned the importance and benefit of creating connections at Highline, which created a strong support system for me.

Dr. Clinton never hesitated to help me out, whether it was a few letters of recommendations I needed or a daunting interview I needed help to prepare for. She even suggested that I apply for and helped me through every step of the Gates Millennium Scholarship, for which I was later chosen as a recipient, after an exhaustive application process.

I feel prepared to begin my studies in the Computer Science and Engineering Department at the University of Washington thanks the support that Dr. Clinton and the Honors Program have given to me.
